Re: Starting over
I was hanging from a pull-up bar, I usually do pull-ups and sometimes feet to bar leg raises. I use to hang upside down by my feet some years back from beams or scaffolding, then raised my feet up but didn't find a good spot to connect my feet but being upside down did some pull-ups with my feet str...

Re: Creating Motivation
I often walk in the rain without a brolly. I walk to the senior centre gym and sometimes it's drizzly. I try to challenge the fitter members to doing pull-ups or chin-up, push-up of all kinds and often on a medicine ball. I'll hang from a chin-up bar and lift feet to touch the bar (for reps) I alway...

How to lower cholesterol
My clinic has a new nurse practitioner and she had my wife and me get bloodwork done. I hadn't had it done since 2018 and my cholesterol for both of us was over the target range. I'm 71 years old November 2023, on zero meds and want to keep it that way. I've been guilty of way too much saturated fat...

Why Tempeh Is Incredibly Healthy and Nutritious
I find Tempeh very versatile, you can marinate it, bake it, fry, slice or crumble it, may decrease blood cholesterol levels. Tempeh is a fermented soy product that’s a popular vegetarian meat replacement. Whether you’re a vegetarian or not, it can be a nutritious addition to your diet. Tempeh is a v...

Re: Hydration
To help me keep hydrated I bought a natural type amino acid blend and electrolyte powder, has coconut water powder and Himalayan pink salt in it. Makes me drink a bottle of water when working out.

Re: Never too old
I remember in 1974 starting at a yoga studio, my teacher was 47 at the time, the same age as my mom. I told my mom she should get into some yoga and she would say "ack! it's too late for that", which now that I'm 70 is a ridiculous way to think. Had she took my advice her health could have...

Re: Age
Out for a walkabout with my wife, stopped near a kids play area and sat on a bench. I noticed these metal rings in a row on the play gym so went over and grabbed them, lifted my feet till they hooked the top bar, I think I could of hung upside down but did 5 pull-ups instead. There's a football area...

Re: Work out
I liked working for a builder as a general labourer, pretty well got paid to workout, a lot of variety and always moving. Sad today seeing younger people not into physical jobs and coast around on them electric rides. I read about overweight young adults who are obese and want to get fit and lose we...

Re: Health
I sometimes use a food and exercise tracker to see how I'm doing. Tracking macros is easy but keep an eye on the micro nutrients. I train regular and want to keep in my best health and strength as I get older.
